English Oak Quercus Blanc de Blancs

If you love supporting local, this is the wine for you. English Oak vinyard is just a few miles outside of Poole and we are proud to be stocking their wine.
Unlike their other wines which start their ageing process in stainless steel tanks, Quercus is a Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs with a difference – 9 months first fermentation in 500l Oak barrels, previously used in Burgundy for Chardonnay wine. 500l barrels are important, as they minimize the contact between the wine and the oak, producing depth richness and complexity on the pallet. The barrel allows a slow intake of oxygen into the wine through the wood, which helps to make the wine creamy, silky smooth, rich and warm. This beautifully balanced, limited production wine enjoys noticeably depth and complexity. Experience vanilla, raisin, toasted almond and a hint of cinnamon.
